Politico is reporting that President Obama will propose an across-the-board non-security spending freeze in his State of the Union address on Wednesday night.
Huh. That’s a bit different than candidate Obama.
Seeing how Obama has had a super majority and has been unable to fulfill a single campaign pledge, I really doubt he’ll be able to transform into a centrist and get any cooperation there either. It’s a very bright, Clintonesque move on his part. I just don’t think Congress is going to play along.
Why is it I don’t believe that weak promise?
And it doesn’t apply to foreign aid. Because I wouldn’t want the government of Egypt to cut back on their military spending would I?

That’s like driving toward a cliff edge at 80 mph and proposing to hold the gas pedal steady. The outcome will only change if his foot comes off the gas and hits the brake. Buckle up!

I don’t see a contradiction. He said cuts were necessary in his campaign. I want to see what cuts he suggests before I make an opinion.
Cuts with a hatchet or cuts with a scalpel are both good.
