The top dogs at APS, SRP and TEP – the state power providers – have a short but poignant op-ed in the Arizona Republic. The bottom line is that if Obama gets the “cap and trade” energy bill that he wants it could end up costing Arizona residents between 10 percent and 40 percent more for their electricity bill, and it won’t do ONE THING to reduce greenhouse gases or increase alternative energy.
Some ideas just need to die.

Couldn’t agree more.
Sean,
Please work on your reading comprehension. In fact, they do not argue that cap-and-trade “won’t do ONE THING to reduce greenhouse gases or increase alternative energy.” Rather, the authors correctly note that the cap-and-trade bill will “cap the emissions of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.”
Game. Set.
Thanks.

Consider the source.
yeah, like the “top dogs” at APS, SRP, and TEP have no interest in seeing this fail. those guys are COMPLETELY unbiased. no-bull here, sean.
NSN –
Isn’t the larger point of capping emissions and using alternative energy to decrease “global warming”? Unfortunately for the Americans that will have to foot the bill, according to the economists over at the masterresouces blog, the cap-and-trade proposal from Reps. Waxman and Markey will only prevent a temperature increase of 9/100ths of ONE degree celsius…something even the enviros won’t dispute.
I guess you can argue that 9/100ths of one degree celsius isn’t technically “nothing”…
Scaring power companies into pushing alternative energy sources WILL cut carbon emissions. Go CAP and TRADE!!
